Haha. on your off topic remark there. At my Alma Mater, the food was good, but the only times it was great were when it was the Tuesday Specials, either Chinese, Montgomery Inn, or something like that.
But yeah, it's always interesting how T.K. comes across to some people. I think it has to deal with the fact that his and Matt's parents are divorced and so there may be some times where he comes across as preppy. I don't know, maybe that's why he took up basketball, to help push down some of that pain of not having his father with him very much, or when he had to lose Patamon at such a young age.
I've know how it feels to lose someone to death, my grandpa on my mom's side died my Freshman year in high school, then my favorite pet, my cat Smokey died a year later at 14 and then this year I thought for sure I'd be seeing the last of one of our family dogs. I cried a lot just while driving to take him to the vet.
But of course, losing your partner digimon is terrible I'm sure, it's like losing a part of yourself. It'd just really send T.K. down for sure if it happened again, and not to mention the fact of if he had to face losing Kari, it's why he's there for her so much.

One thing that has to be remembered with digimon and I'll admit to forgetting sometimes myself is this: they're not really like pets.
Actually I was talking to one of my non digimon liking friends once and he said that the reason he disliked the show is because the digimon are too human.
We know that Ken likened the death of Wormmon to the death of Osamu due to the imagry in episode 21. Angemon died to save Takeru from evil so prehaps it would be more painful. When Angemon died, we didn't see as obvious a saddness as with Wormmon. Takeru was too young to understand what was going to whilst Ken had already experienced it. Also note that Angemon's egg stayed with Takeru but Wormmon's went back to the village. Just thought prehaps Tekaru goes hard on himself for not understanding Angemon's death originally.

Yeah, you're right there, I think that what also got TK to be that harsh about the darkness was that as time went by on his first adventure he did saw more deaths of good friends like Wizardmon, Chuumon, Piximon (okay none of them saw Piximon dying but they knew he would die eventually while protecting them), the Numemon and he sure knew about SaberLeomon dying too.
He saw so much death in his short 8 years of life, then he saw Patamon almost in the verge of dying when Diaboromon hit Patamon in the middle of his digivolution, thing that surprised me Patamon didn't died considering he was a rookie level and Diaboromon was a mega level, he only ended unconsious and Tentomon helped him in time while MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon attacked Diaboromon or else he would had died.
The thing is that TK did saw Patamon more than once in danger to die, hence that nightmare he had in 02 of Angemon dying again during the BlackWarGreymon saga, that's the reason that for him life is so important and can't forgive when the darkness uses innocent lifes for evil purposes.

you've got some good point there, even though I don't remember all of those battles. It's probably because they don't play all the episodes down here...especially first season.

Yeah, but since I keep watching the old seasons on youtube now and then when I'm lucky to find them I'm really fresh on what happened on the seasons of digimon, well not counting Savers (Data Squad) since I haven't watched that one fully XD
But yeah, TK does have a serious value for the life after Angemon sacrificed himself on the battle with Devimon, I think that also was the reason why he blamed himself when Kari desappeared in the dark ocean, before that he had snapped at her because she was too much depending of Tai, he tried to make her see she has her own strength and that she doesn't has to always call Tai, though there I think he also was trying to tell her that there were other people besides Tai that she could call for help like him, still he felt bad for have reacted like that, you should see in the original version when he, Patamon and Gatomon are arrive to the beach to search for Kari and he grips his D-3 while saying that in that moment the D-3 couldn't help it, if you hear how his voice actor did that part you can see the deep pain and desperation TK was going through.
TK is a very sensitive guy and yet he in 02 showed that when necesary he can fight for what is right, hence the battle with Ken, that showed a TK we never expected to see, no one could have guessed he could fight with fists that good, and the basketball helped him a lot with his reflexes when he caught Ken's whip with his hand.
All in all TK is a guy that his mood reacts according to the situation he is going through ^^

Yeah. I entirely forgot a bit about all that other stuff, but yeah. How he was reacting during the internet battle really showed he was starting to get a bit more scared of Patamon dying again which that was a miracle. And then the other deaths besides Angemon's. Also don't forget about Greymon becoming a slave to Ken under the dark powers of the Dark rings/Spirals. Even though Agumon's not his digimon, I think that was hard for him still especially when Tai was really upset. I remember Tai has also acted the same way, one with Sora being taken by Datamon, Agumon becoming SkullGreymon, all that stuff, and don't forget about him almost losing Kari himself, twice and blamed himself for it. It's almost as if he and T.K. go hand in hand the two seasons. Matt has also had a stint in this, season 1, when Devimon split up the islands, this is where we find out about the divorce.

yay, i have another star!! sorry, back on topic....
I think we've summed up almost everything about TK. His personality, the way he reacts to certain people...the gary-stu issue, his relationship w/Patomon, what haven't we talked about?
One final comment about TK, I remember in that episode when he fought with Ken, he talked about his clothes after Cody picked up his hat stating that "he didn't want it to get dirty". TK said that "it was okay because he had six others, one for each day of the week." don't you think that's kind of weird??? I've always wondered about that because(getting off topic again) you know how anime characters almost never change clothes. It makes me think that's what everyone else does....oh well. That's just me and my occasional randomness...

The he didn't wanted his hat to get dirty thing was a US dub joke, what he really said was thanking Cody for have returned him his hat But you have a point about the clothes, at least TK had three clothes sets on 02, the ones he used on the digiworld, another set for school like we saw on episode 22 before they entered to the digiworld, and his winter clothes, oh a 4th one would be his gym clothes XD So at least he did had more than just one set of clothes XD Also check this picture: it is just me or TK and Kari almost look like if they're holding hands? lol

Another possibility! I saw that just before I saw your final comment. It really does look like it. Why else would Kari have her right hand behind her back as well? And the way T.K. is smiling, (funny I almost spelled him T.D. while typing it, guess Davis isn't the only one with trouble saying his name LOL!) and then Kari has a certain gaze to her.
