How is everybody? A team of five, some of the most skilled fanfiction writers are building up a site to improve skill and style. AdoptedMoonPrincess is one of them, she contacted me and told me about what they do. I requested them to put our forum under examination so everyone for the next few weeks, be on your best behaviour and follow our new rules. Generally, Goggles to put it bluntly they are all skilled writers, their english, grammer, story structure, and character handling is amazing.
I have requested one of them to evaluate the general writing skill of our forum. I have already been selected myself, but it would be an honor to me and our forum if they selected all 55 of our members by judging their posts. They hate spam and useless posts, they like good english, good structure which is one of the reasons I created these new rules.
This evaluation will go for about two weeks.

One last thing and don't delete this one I want them to read it: What is the point of your evaluations? Honestly, you are not exactly the Nobel Prize here, and, as a side note, you are FANFICTION WRITERS. This is not a profession; it is a hobby. A hobby of which I am proud to be apart of, but I do not see how this will raise my standing, when you consider the fact that I cannot get anyone to read my stuff anyways. To Amna: Why are you bending backwards for these people? Should they not judge the forum on the fanfics themselves than what we say?

How can we be on our best behaviour when your treating our opinions like dirt? If I wanted evauation I have plenty of friends and family who could do that for me. I'd be very surprised if anyone here needs some other writer whom we have no real reason to even suppose that they are any good, breathing down our necks.
Introducing the new rules has just made people annoyed. In the long run it could risk making the forum boring and generic. Heck, I felt that we had a really interesting thing here. Our lack of antispamming rules meant that we could chat naturally as though it wasn't online, almost. Our topics meant that we could go back at any point and make a new point and no one would mind.

I do believe you may be going about this wrongly at a tangent. If they're evaluating writing skill for fanfiction, then would it not be better for them to check the fanfiction section instead of the whole forum? Better yet, have us submit our best and most recent, works to them. Because how one carries himself in a forum does not directly reflect how he/she handles fanfiction. Take myself for an extreme case. Though most of my posts in the forum are done in jest, such as stabbing at Shroud at the introduction thread, and would mostly qualify as spam, it wouldn't reflect on the quality of my fics (however little there may be). Also. Did everyone here sign up for this evalutation? No? That might be a problem as well Amna. |

Wait a second, I don't need some 'evaluator' to tell me that I'm a good writer, I have work of my own already published which I bet none of them do.
And as for spamming, isn't that generally what the 'General Board' is for? Amna not being funny but this seems just a way for you to show off, you should really have asked us if we wanted our work 'evaluated'

Well I don't mind being evaluated except that the fic I have on here is really bad haha but like I said I don't need them to tell me how to write, I know what I'm doing

Goggles, they will be checking out the fanfiction section but they also want to check our writing skill in general. Magna, pushing yourself to write better will get you more reviews  Oh and some members have already been selected, they will be getting a PM on who they are If you don't get a PM within the next few days, then it means you haven't been accepted in. |
