I have no idea what a TVTrope is Oh. Then it's probably better you didn't know. That said, I think I'll hold onto my stuff awhile longer. Might have too much profanities in it and I don't want to scare you outright or anything. But then again, all I need is an accent checker. Ughhh...

How do you want to read the pilot? I can send it via PM (which might make it hard for you to look back at), put it up in our fanfic section (it's a drastically different fandom though, we don't have a non-digi fanfic section yet), or put it up on FF.net as is (which I would try to avoid, until you get a look at it). There's also the option of FF.net's file-transfer for the betareader system, though I don't know how well that works since I've never used it. Whichever makes you most comfortable.
Also, work is continuing on the frontier fic.
Should really get back to that RP with Shroud after this.

okay, sub topic time. When is Alternative Character Interation become OOC? In my opinion it's the quality of writing that makes the difference. For example these two fics... www.fanfiction.net/s/419686/1/Case_Study and www.fanfiction.net/s/304283/1/Childs_Play both show alternate characterisation of Ken yet I wouldn't personally lable either of them as OOC. The consepts described in both though would be on their own. The second one seeing the Choosen Children as the Kaiser's 'almost friends' for instance, (whilst not overally radical) does show something due to the thought that has gone into emotional involment and Ken's maturaty shown in the show amongst over things.

aha that's a good question.
To me it depends heavily on both the reader and the writer.
If the author actively plays a character with the express purpose of them having other personalities then there's no contest that it's OOC.
The big argument begins when the writer decides to slide some stuff and bring out things he/she wants/needs for her work. At this point, whether the character is simply an ACI or OOC depends entirely on the reader and whether he/she and the author have dissimilar views on the person being portrayed. I'd go so far as to imagine a personal sliding scale for each person on what a character finds likely, acceptable, uncommon/strange, impossible, and unthinkable.

That's true. It does depend on the reader. There are alot of things were we can only guess if they're cannon or not. I tend not to think of the reader when considering these things enough.

Hm... it sounds similar to a comic book character who was drawn almost every panel differently
