Patamon and Gatomon

I know that's exactly why I like the pairing, I honestly think wiztail is my least favourite digimon pairing. But veetail isn't all that bad.

I'm not saying VeeTail is bad (even if I don't like that pairing XD), I'm just saying that I have noticed that a good share of VeeGato fans seem to think they make a good couple based on their looks, like some VeeGato fan time ago say he liked the pairing because they walk in two legs o.o

I think he forgot that Gatomon sometimes walks on all fours too lol

Or on a VeeGato fic the author put Gatomon thinking that she wouldn't look good going on a date with Patamon, that she would look better going on date with Veemon than with Patamon, you know as if fearing about what others would think if they saw her with a small digimon like Patamon, ah but about Veemon she was thinking how he was strong, adventureous and such, the only good thing she thought of Patamon was about how a good friend he is and how they have teamed up in battles for years but what's that when she seemed to fear about others' opinions about going on a date with him?

And the ironic here is that Pikachu on the other side has a lot of popularity and he is a rodent mon just like Patamon U_U

WOW! You just struck a chord there. Pikachu, wow. Now that I look at it closely it's really weird. But yeah, Pikachu is popular, so what's the deal with Patamon being anything less? Of course that's Pokemon fans talking, we are digimon fans here.

I never did understand that WizGato pairing either. And you're right on Veemon compared to Patamon. And that reason not to like this paring, Bleh! I never did see it at all. C'mon people! Get it through your heads. Two digimon become Angels, Angemon and Angewomon, I mean how obvious can it get?

Though, I wonder how an ArnaGato (Arnamon and Gatomon) pairing would fair. LOL! There goes my imagination on a wandering spree! XD.

I never did like the two angles argument because it reeks of two things; it still means that either Patamon or Tailmon are choosing their lovers by looks and it's also reministant of those 'only black people can marry black people arguements'. (Actually it could just be the way I see it). Plus as Pata's pointed many times there are far better arguments for PataTail.

Nows about Pikachu. As I'm sure noone could have possibly ever guessed I am a fan of him... yet I see their cuteness as a completely different breed. Pikachu for a start in all versions has a cute voice. Patamon has more personality. Having tried to draw both of them many times I can tell you that Pikachu is alot easier; like he was designed so that a child could draw him whilst Patamon I just fail even now to get him cute 99.9% of the time. It's really annoying. Pikachu more often plays comic relief roles... in the early episodes anyway. I could go on but I don't feel like it that much.

But anyways leaving the angels thing aside, just focusing on them as Patamon and Gatomon, Patamon sure has his good share of qualities for any female to fall for him, but in big part of that some fans doesn't see Patamon say in a good light comes from the US dub, they messed up his personality a lot making him even more childish than what he really was o.o

Mhmm. That's very true. Though I still think they got his character right. I think it was more to fit with the his partner, of course T.K., in the first season. Notice how Kari and Gatomon are quite the same personality wise in both seasons. I think that's why I like them as a couple. When T.K. grows up a little, I think Patamon does too in a majority sort. Which I think it all relates to, It's obvious that T.K. and Kari are the couple of the series. I just see it as no other way.

Yeah, still Patamon in 02 in the original version had a few important dialogs like in episode 7 after Andromon hit him with his attack and Patamon fell on TK's arms, in the japanese version Patamon said "Perfect Digimon are too powerful" Perfect is what in america is known as ultimate level. In the US dub they changed the dialog putting Patamon saying "I will take two cheeseburguers and a big order of fries"

When I saw that on the US dub I was like O.O

I mean I really didn't saw the need to mess with the dialogs like that, much like they did with Kari in episode 13, they put her calling Tai, Gatomon and the national guard instead of Tai, Gatomon and TK like it happened in the original version.

But I do agree on what you say about them growing up too ^^

I think is precisely that what makes Gatomon too comfortable around Patamon, the fact that even though he can be playful he still did grow up and knows when is the right moment for everything ^^

Actually, that was one of my favorite parts, LOL! Though I could've seen him as saying that Ultimate digimon are too powerful. Funny thing is though, I don't see Pegasusmon as strong as Angemon. If Patamon and Gatomon had been able to digivolve in that dome thing, they'd of rocked house against the Guardromon and Andromon.

And that does make me upset that they'd make her call out for the National Guard. For goodness sake, they don't even know about the digital world. It's T.K! Obviously the dub makers wanted to keep any reference to the two becoming a couple to try and throw us off. But of course the picture in the poster kind of prevents that.

Yeah, I love that picture (the one in this forum's background) of TK and Kari holding hands, also Gatomon looks so cute posing like that and Patamon seems to be leaning a bit against her, not much but the way he is standing gives that kind of illusion ^^

Anyhow back to Pata and Gato, I really can't explain why I like them so much as couple, is just that I do see it working and getting strong, don't ask me how I know, I just do.

I think their friendship could be compared to the one of Simba and Nala, or later Kovu and Kiara both from Lion King I and II, in fact is more like the one of Kovu and Kiara, this on the grounds that Kovu had a dark past since he was being used by Zira to fullfill Scar's failed plan of become the ruler of pride land.

If you see the Kovu and Nala interaction it sure will remind you somehow to the one Pata and Gato have but in a inverse way, while on Digimon Gatomon was the serious one and Patamon the playful one yet with his own share of personal issues to cope with (like being a better partner to help TK and such) on Kovu and Kiara's case it was Kovu the one that was the say loner or serious one with a huge weight over him which he doesn't likes it while Kiara was your playful and joyful cub which at the same time she had her own share of personal issues namely that she will succeed Simba on the throne of Pride rock.

On both cases Gatomon and Kovu found a safe heaven on Patamon and Kiara respectively, of course Gatomon already had another safe heaven which was Wizardmon but when he died she did found another safe heaven on Patamon (in my opinion ^^). This because from the beginning they showed they will get along pretty well. Just when they went in their angel forms to face VenomMyotismon (when Gatomon says that only Patamon can come with her) as Angemon and Angewomon they talked like if they always had known each other for years, I mean pretty natural, like if Angewomon had been figthing with him and the others since the beginning, later we have the famous Angemon with his arm around her and his hand on her shoulder, in my opinion that was quite fast for Angemon to take such liberty, how long you think it has been since Kari and Gatomon joined the others? I don't give more than 6 months, maybe even less.

That sure shows how they got along quite fast become good and close friends. Add to that the three years between both adventures, lot of time for Gatomon to get to know Patamon better as well the others and hence how she and Patamon on 02 were quite close which take us to the dancing scene. Gatomon in 02 looked more fresh, more free, really happy, still keeping her mature side on the knowledge and resourceful side but now fully enjoying of the nice things life has, like on the episode The Good, The Bad and The Digi, she went with Kari on a Bicycle stroll, it sure showed how she finally found that happiness she had lost because of working for Myotismon, and like I put before that a PataGato fan said, Patamon was like a link for Gatomon to recover that rookiehood aka childhood, she didn't had due to work for Myotismon ever since she was a Salamon.

Returning to the comparative I did between Pata and Gato as well Kovu and Kiara, it is just to show how Kovu and Kiara ended discovering their love for each other as time passed, so if they could be pretty happy and fall in love then Patamon and Gatomon could fall in love too perfectly.

It is just matter of have a good plot and aisle their love life from any relation their partners have as much as possible, get them to be independent from their partners.

Maybe sounds hard but it is possible ^^

You know it's also funny you mention that episode in the good the bad the digi, because that episode gave T.K. and Kari a good rest, along with Patamon and Gatomon. Because then they also got themselves their episode in the Dark Ocean. It couldn't have been meant any other way.

Yeah, that's true, also anyone noticed that on the episode where Davis had that soccer match against Ken, Yolei, Cody and Davis brought their digimon to see the game but oddly enough Patamon and Gatomon weren't present there? I mean TK and Kari didn't brought Patamon and Gatomon to the game, wonder what they were doing while the others were at the game? XD
