Yamato and Takeru's relationship is one sided brotherly love. Takeru looks up to his older brother and care for him but Yamato doesnt care for Takeru in first adventure he yelled at Takeru when they were together that they could do without Taichi and Takeru began crying Yamato is bad older brother.

Yes I remember that but that was before divorce after divorce Yamato acts as if the divorce is his fault and takes it out on Takeru and sometimes even on Gabumon. As older brother since he does get time with his brother he should be caring, try to comfort and protect him.

Well he felt guilty because he couldn't make his parents stop. Also Matt got separated from his mother when he was mere 5 years old, since he was around that age when his parents divorced. He did had a lack of his mother's care due to be living with his father who spent most of the day working. He and TK doesn't see each other often, so it isn't easy for him to be a big brother but yet he does cares about his brother. He did got shocked when Devimon grabbed TK to crush him ( a bit before Patamon digivolved to Angemon for the first time).
For how I see it most fans are misunderstanding Matt. They were on a strange world with weird creatures, not to mention they were stuck there till they could save such world and their own world, you couldn't expect them be all calmed, there was a lot of pressure on them
Also if I recall well Matt had to yell at TK because for what I remember TK was going on and on about Tai or something, don't remember well but Matt yelled at him because TK took him to the limit of his patience.

Takeru was only 7 or 8 years old in the first adventure obviously he wont be the most mature person in the world and look at how Taichi dealt with Takeru Yamato should learn something from Taichi at how patient he was when it comes to little kids

sorry but i agree with Lord Pata on this and the truth is Matt was scared of losing his brother in the first adventure and he wanted TK at first to rely on only him because the truth was Matt needed someone to love and care for and who better than his younger brother and also in the cave in episode 51 Matt admits that and realises he's not really alone because TK loves him a lot his parents while they are divorced still love him a lot and he realises no matter what he's not really alone. After that Matt is able to act as a better older brother because the darkness in his heart the loneliness is no longer there. Sorry for ranting but I feel the brotherly relationship is very misinterpreted. Matt and TK both care a lot about each other and this is just an opinion but I think no matter how old TK gets if he's in trouble or feels alone Matt will always be there for him come on people they're family and quite close family might I add?

Though its kinda Yamato's dad's fault as well he never tooked proper care of his son while Takeru got more love from his mother while Yamato had to take care of himself a lot. Poor Yamato he went through a lot for an eight year old

I actually really like there relationship... I think it's both sided but shown in very very different ways (Yamato is just more grumpy in how he shows it.) Also it shows a contrediction between thier relationship and Taichi/Hikari's.

Guess that that was kind of stating the obvious... hey I just noticed how close Takaru and Yamato are standing to each other in the background... interesting in comparion to Taichi and Hikari... though it probably doesn't mean a thing.
