Different pairings will have different effects on the rest of the cast and can create different tensions.
In this way it is tempting to choose pairing by what will create the most interesting pairings than the most realistic. That is something I have no trouble with.

I think that's an interesting point take Daikari or Takari for instance Tai would watch either of them like a Hawkmon(corny) and if either tried something it could cause lots of tension

It's not just Taichi but with those two there's Miyako's, Yamato's (more so with Takari), Ken's, the partner digimon's, each other's, Jun's (more so with Daikari) that could all create interesting reactions to think about. There really is about that can be worked into both pairings.
Actually my reason for liking Kenjun is the amount of reactions it could cause. Admittedly any Jun pairing is fun for that.

lol, nice examples of reactions Magna XD
Using the pairings as tools can be interesting when handled correctly and carefully. You know how this kind of thing also can be interpreted in a wrong way, you know like this character never would do this or that and such.
Writing based on characters of an anime in this case Digimon is all a challenge since fans can be really picky if their favorite characters are portrayed in a way they don't like.

I think that using pairing as tools only works if you can do it without using the characters as tools but let them be realistic characters like they are in the show.
