yeah, considering that they got more endurance against Kimeramon's attack like I showed on the screenshot of them unconsious. The other armor digimon went all the way back to in-training level while they remained in champion (Gatomon) and rookie (Patamon) level
Then again in Patamon's case considering he took full hit from Diaboromon in the middle of his digivolution and didn't died, then that means his endurance sure improved a lot after the first adventure ^^
About the animation that one is the flashback version, when Veemon was saying (at least in the original lines) that Gatomon and Patamon are too close as well when Davis asked him if he hadn't noticed how close TK and Kari seem to be ^^

Yeah, that's true as well. I wonder if that's part of the reason he and Gatomon were soon able to digivolve to Mega. BTW, how did they do that in the movie when they never had done it in the first place?

It's interesting how Gatomon can usually always stay in champion. You hardly see her rookie form, Salamon.

Well Gatomon always stays in champion because she reached her champion level without Kari and her Digivice, I mean it wasn't a digivolution like how Patamon digivolves to champion with TK's help.
Gatomon got forced to become stronger to survive to all the tortures Myotismon put on her.
Though I do agree that she and Patamon by 02 had a lot more of strength since whenever they got attacked, they only digivolved back to Patamon and Gatomon, unless it was the dna evolution, on the dna they dedigivolved back to Tokomon and Salamon and yet that is still above the other digimon since Wormmon, Veemon, Hawkmon and Armadillomon after the dna digivolution always returned back all the way to the fresh stage, I mean not even back to in-training but one level under that one.
Another way to notice is when Patamon digivolved to Angemon and then to MagnaAngemon in episode 34, on 01 after the ultimate level they always returned to in-training level but on that episode of 02 MagnaAngemon after BlackWarGreymon destroyed the stone, he only reverted back to Patamon.
Guess what Gatomon said in 01 was right, that they are configured in a different way.
talking about that, on that episode where Gatomon said that only Patamon could help her, I could tell that Patamon was really surprised when she said only him could help her, you know how Patamon was always the last in get action, last in get champion level, and last in get the ultimate form, so hearing Gatomon saying only him could help her sure was a shocker for him, it wasn't any of the others that could help, it was him, I bet he felt so thrilled that for once the team depended more of him again than from the others ^^

That's probably why he was in no hurry to really digivolve. Only when he was needed. Just another example of PataGato and Takari. Plus the Tokomon and Salamon part, that's really cool.

Does anyone remember that episode were TK and Patamon are at the Primary Vilage, and it shows you TK's digivice and it looked like Patamon nearly digivolved then.

Yeah, when the island split up and it was just them. It was when Patamon almost digivolved against Elecmon.

Yeah I saw that too, the bars on TK's digivice were going up and down and when TK yelled causing them to stop the bars on the digivice went down, I would have liked to see Elecmon's face if Patamon would have digivolved in front of him XD
